"VC marketing support material"

Give me a break. These guys make Ken Lay and Andrew Fastow look like boy scouts. I worked with some of the biggest names in the VC business and a bigger bunch of self delusional liars I have yet to meet. A sweeping characterization I know, but a well deserved I'm afraid.

ROFLwhatever. Show me an OFDM handset with 5 days of standby time.

Instead of delegating DSP power to enc/decoding MP4 data streams or voice recognition, you are trying to demodulate an OFDM signal on a battery the size of 3 sticks of gum?

The WiMax consortion thinks they can find a solution.

So does ETRI.

If these problems are solved as you claim, where are the handsets?

The IceFry article is one of 638 articles on Google returned by OFDM PAPR. I believe it is a sound summary of the IPR needed for a "public standard" using OFDM.

You still don't have a paging channel implementation that keeps your demodulator DSP engine in a mobile device from sucking down a battery waiting for the ring.
