Now you're touting Saddam's non compliance to UN resolutions as another legitimate reason for invasion. How many UN resolutions is Israel in non compliance with??

A great many, condemning Israel is the one thing the UN can agree on. Something like three-quarters of all special security council meetings were to condemn Israel. But while we're being legalistic about it, please note that none of the resolutions condemning Israel were Chapter Seven (enforcable) resolutions, as the resolutions against Iraq were.

But actually, I'm not touting non-compliance to UN resolutions as a "legitimate" reason for invading Iraq. I think the entire UN is degenerate beyond salvation. I am just pointing the holes in your argument, which set up a "legitimate" community that "respects international law" against the rogue Uncle Sam.

Nobody respects international law. Everybody uses it as a piety to drape around weak arguments. The Europeans use it a lot harder than anybody else because, frankly, they don't have much else to argue with, and are frantically trying to bell the cat.

I agree with you on the aid to Palestinian terror....that has been well documented. As for Al-Qaeda links.....have you any proof of this other than the Jerusalem Post or Debka?!?

Yes, the Washington Post...it's coming out as Americans translate the Iraqi intelligence papers. I'll see if I can dig up links, I don't remember where I read it at the moment. BTW, the Jpost is a legitimate newspaper; it has its slant but its stories check out. Considering the way the NYT has been lately, I would trust the accuracy of a Jpost story over a NYT story any day.

A couple articles on Iraqi links with Al Qaida. I once had a link to a Guardian article from several years ago alleging Iraq - al Qaida links but have lost it.
