Bias is directly correlated with the size of the bet taken, in my experience. I find many on this thread are extremely biased because they have taken on disproportionate bets. Hence, the personal attacks and emotional tantrums seen daily.

I have no large stake in the direction of qcom (other than getting long for a small trade here), so I think that gives me more objectivity than those who've staked their life savings on it...

No matter how you look at it, this is still a very speculative play...and can offer attractive rewards for those nimble enough to ride the sentiment waves. Few fall into this category, IMHO.

Trevor,

Whether we know it, we're all biased. Some admit it, some don't. Some think they're unbiased.

We all approach the world through our experience, our pre-dispositions, our skill-sets, our emotions, and our view of what the future should be. This naturally translates into bias.

I freely admit my Q/CDMA bias and my prejudice against the Europeans, especially the Nordics, who have made such an incredible mess out of 3G. Billions upon billions down the gurgler for no good reason. I think my bias is amply justified, but of course........I'm biased. ;)
