And now we get "He was a great president even though he lied/cheated/drank/pillaged/rampaged/conspired/womanized/etc......" Maybe our craven political system is just another manifestation of the dumbing down of modern commercial America. I know I don't want to be in the US next year when the political commercials are all over, lying about opponents and targeting the voters with double-digit IQs. Why do they all do it? Because it works, and we let them get away with it by rewarding and justifying and rationalizing all their crap. Maybe we can say "She was a great president..." sometime soon. Couldn't do any worse.
