<I'm increasingly convinced that the whole Iraq gig was about something else entirely>

So....the reasons given weren't the real reasons? There were some other, unspoken reasons, and the Administration decided not to talk about those, and instead talk (and talk, and talk) about un-real reasons? Awfully complicated.

Whatever happened to the "consent of the governed"? How can we consent, if the debate is about un-real reasons, an elegantly managed charade? Doesn't this imply the Powers That Be don't really believe in the concept of democracy? How can you have any hope that we'll make democracy There, by people who subverted it Here?

I can tell, you are beginning to question the whole idea, that force will solve everything. The method you reluctantly support, because you can't think of anything better, is precisely the method the Israelis have been using, these last 35 years. Hasn't worked very well, has it? The Israelis don't have National (or personal) Security. They are scared, trapped, don't see any way out. They are building themselves the world's biggest Walled Ghetto. That's where we're going, if we keep on the current path.

The Dead End on this path, is when the countries and organizations we threaten, really do have WMD. That day is not far off. There is nothing, no practical method that doesn't involve immense risks, we can do, to keep Iran and N. Korea from getting nukes, in the near future. And then Syria, and Hamas, and Hezbollah, and Al Queda. Everyone on the spaceship is getting their own grenades.
