Common interests, not personal gain
Go read some economics. Given prevention of harmful illegal acts acts and creation of monopolies, there is no conflict there. And THAT is what the Founders saw. That is why the original Constitution restricted arbitrary power of both the gov't and majorities.

individual achievement
There's something WRONG with individual achievement????

According to a socialist-Communist such as yourself, perhaps. According to those not blinded by the light of glaringly wrong ideologies, no.

Common interests, not personal gain was the genius of the founders.

That's an exquisite variety of retardation only rarely seen on SI. In fact, it was individual rights - stemming philosophically from the Rights of Englishmen championed by Jeremy Bentham - that the Constitution sought to hold high; not any form of socialization such as you're obviously aspiring to. Selfishness is the highest virtue, and from it springs all manners of communal benefit: a whole greater than the sum of the parts, with residual benefits passed along at every step of the self-interested way.

I don't care one bit about you, your family, your health, your job or your happiness. But you're welcome - indeed, encouraged - to agonize and burn the midnight oil worrying over mine, if your philosophy so directs.

Just keep your hands out of my pockets. And have a great day!

:-)
