No one can read through all the garbage on SI, and it's pretty obvious Andy didn't know your personal situation. It was unfortunate that the quote he brought up included "... the time has come for me to turn out the lights some time soon ...". I would think on a different day you would understand this is just one of those hurtful things that widows face or hear from unknowing others. By not changing your screen name, you set yourself up. By SI being intrusive in processing requests for screen name changes, I also am critical of the former SI and the current SI.

And what name would be on the obituary? Jock posted on this board at one point that that was not his real name. I have no sympathy for people who jerk other people around, alive or dead. If you play identity games (Mary Cluney?) don't be surprised if people don't trust you.
