Wouldn't it be so much enhanced , if those who scribed all this talk in the scriptures were to have actually had the chance to know

...that the actual human body's composition is the networking of some 3 trillion individual cells , being re-born ,living and dying all the time . So that each and everyone of us is renewed completely in so many cycles throughout our lives ? Or to know that every sense and impression of theirs , is dependent on over 75,000miles of nervous fibres and tendril which laid end to end would encircle the earth over 3 times. Or to see the spermatazoa swimming up the vaginal canals into the uterus with all the purpose of the divine , and witness that moment of creation and one pentrates the egg's outerwalls , and that very moment of conception.

Then what would these scribes , holymen and prophets say next when they witnessed the evolution of the fetus ...going thru early collection of a ball of cells congealing , from reptile to fish , and pig to monkey and finally in later stages develope into tiny perfect human form ? What would they have said then i wonder ...hmmmm.

I'm sure that one would have made them all go mad to have seen, that tiny little fetus with that tail .<G> Let me ask you a question Brian , and you can answer for all "christians" if you like . Just where do you think that "Light" comes from , that you see in your most exalted ecstatic and reverie~filled moments?

When they hinted at the body being the temple of the soul , they only had the barest clue , as it were , it being one of the most remarkable things in all creation and miracles abounding within it every moment of the day , whether you are waking or sleeping. Nice not having to remember to breath isn't it , for instance ? Or to have that immune system that fights off infections and bacterial onslaughts on a daily basis without you ever having to stop to think of it. So many metaphors could be woven around this one thing which is ourselves , that religion has a high purpose to to describe the reality of, for that is what all religion must do...to describe "reality" and discover "truth" . Or the mission fails.

Breath brian ...just remember to breath, thats one good place to start .

(And maybe take up "square-dancing" too !)

;-)

PS: I am able to mingle freely with Christians , Jews , Moslems or Hindus ...as I see a part of truth in all of them ...and even a greater simpler truth for they all are trying to say the same things . Hope you learn to see this too someday , then you will have truely grown, and "seen the light ". hehe

Interesting also to note , that there are modern day physicians who cure more people and alleiviate more suffering in a year or even a month , than Jesus did in his entire ministry . And for all practical purposes , given the diseases that they wouldn't have had the slightest chances of overcoming way back then ...physicians today are evrey bit as much "miracle" workers and messiahs raising people back from the brink of death , than any who lived and claimed "bonding" with the God ...or speaking for him in parables. Physicians do it with their actions , and are really very good chaps to have around when you get sick of body and mind . They are remarkable people as a group , and those that work in the medical field under auspices of
Appollo, Son of God , the God of Healing , and the Sun.

Jesus was a good young chap , but heavens brian ....let's be "real" , reason together , and know the truth . It's quite all right for Jesus to have claimed a kinship with the divine ... he fasted , he sacrificed , he prayed , he meditated ... promised the sick & outcasted heaven and eternal life ,
and he gave it his all ...

in fact we all can claim this kinship with the miracle of Life...evryone born of a mother that is.

Even your own scripture says this is so...now get out from under that church pew and wake up little mustard seed !

;-)

PS: If you really want to do some good tomorrow on Sunday ...go visit a Hospital near you and just be a "witness".
