In re: spending too much on equipment; users like it as is

At the very least, there are not enough horses under the hood to get search functionality to a level that would satisfy many users. Hence, the necessity for more equipment.

Totally agree, jon

You know the message board biz. SI was great as it was. I preferred it over all other sites. The real reason SI slid was the state of the stock and ad markets.

I don't think it was the owners fault that things went down in transit. Bob said search took up too much bandwidth. He got rid of news because he didn't want to pay for it. He also didn't prearrange agreements with other content providers so they went down. If the other content servers aren't free, he said he'll get rid of it. I don't think it was too cool to mess up people's si email without giving them notice. I see some investor relations people were using that address, as were some hypesters. ihub used to have free email with bigmailbox I think it was called.

I think bob stated that ihub is now making money. Better ask bob about that.

If he doesn't make money on SI, he can just let his partners get stuck with the bills like he did at ihub. He stuck the guy who financed it with all the bills. He just ran away with the assets with help from Matt.

Amazing when you think about it, if it weren't for three stock hypesters, ihub would be dead and bob never would have been able to buy dying si.
