Here's what I would try. Undo the restore you did and then uninstall Yahoo Messenger. Then if the problem persists give us exact error messages. Do you have any other IM software installed? If you do, uninstall them. Make sure the next version of Yahoo Messenger you install is made for XP and shut down as many programs as you can before the install. We also need details on the Ultra 100 problem.
