Good to see it's possible to negotiate. My $2400 vs $800 example shows there lots of room but the % is very dependent on the what the service/procedure is. Will the provider tell
you up front what they accept from insurance companies or do you just have to negotiate down from the "List" price?

they will not let you into a hospital without insurance,Even if you can pay cash.
cost can spiral out of control to easily in a hospital for them to take uninsured people

pharmacys also charge cash customers triple what an insurance co. pays,
