If you were to demand full disclosure on every public dollar and program it would be clear that the 40% of GDP gobbled by gov't is 50% wasted and another large portion is viciously counter-productive, basically gov't at war with the citizenry to further the aims of gov't/corp insiders

you are missing my point. i didn't say anything at all about the efficacy of govt expenditures; my argument is that a perpetual and growing real imbalance of income and outflow has inevitable consequences. currently our government admits to debt equal to 60% of GDP, when in reality the negative net worth is around 5 times GDP. in a situation where income and outflow balance, the inevitable result is the insolvency of the state. in the case of a fiat currency, it can be argued that insolvency is not possible because we will just print our way out of debt. but this is virtual insolvency because the currency will become worthless.

Citizens have no representation, Congress is a sham, and the rest of the branches of gov't are festooned with the wealthy criminal class

i agree. it seems to me that we are in effect destroying the capitalist system and replacing it with a kleptocracy. domestically, the criminal CEOs steal from shareholders. internationally, we put ourselves in an advantageous position to use resources "owned" by the militarily inferior.
