OK, the example asked how I would feel about hate laws not being passed after someone was killed in an example of a hate crime.

I asked - isn't murder already a crime?

I guess I don't care about the hate part in this example, since the capital offense of murder should be good enough for the death penalty in Texas already. Having someone serve multiple life sentences is just as silly when one should be enough. I mean how many lives do criminals have anyway?
