I personally don't think we need a hate crime bill. It's sort of like the moving target of what is pornography - I know it when I see it. Someone on the left such as yourself should see the slippery slope of defining what hate is. How about if I hate pediphiles? Should they be protected too?

Now if I assault one, we have laws for that already. It seems rather redundant, feel good legislation - typical "There we've done something" liberal crap that gives our lawyers more food at the trough.

They might get two years for rape and two years for robbery. In any case, I, for one, would be pissed if they got off with four years.

Then push for stronger sentences for rape and robbery. You will get a lot of support from conservatives.

Or is four years for rape and robbery ok if it wasn't racially motivated??
