Some extreme bullish sentiment points in recent history and result. This is based on a chart Ruykeyser used to show intermittently on WSW. Data points are certainly not exhaustive and may not be precise DATE B/(Bulls+bears) result 1/5/73 80.3% Dow down 45% over 23 mos 12/31/76 90.0% Dow down 26% in 14 mos 8/21/87 76.0% Dow down 36% in 8 weeks In the bubble that ended in 2000 I don't think we ever breached 70% significantly. I'll pass on interpreting the importance of the current extreme number other than saying it makes me extremely uncomfortable<g> Marc
