The Iraqi government was under numerous UN chapter seven resolutions requiring it to demonstrate it did not have banned weapons. It had agreed to do so at the end of the Gulf War. Therefore it should have been willing to demonstrate whether the mobile labs came under banned categories or not.

The fact that war was imminent is one more reason why it would have been in Saddam's benefit to do so. It would have taken some of the wind out of the sails of the Bush administration's intention to deal with Iraq militarily.

Large segments of the Islamic world hates us. 9/11 and the cheers in even many "friendly" Islamic countries demonstrate that. Those elements of the Islamic world which are that hostile to us should see us as a threat.
