An advantage of tax cuts at times when the economy is not doing well is the short term direct benefit they provide to the economy. But the main advantages of tax cuts are 1 - That they let people keep more of their own money, and 2 - The long term benefit of increased investment and more efficient use of resources when the investments are made to satisfy market demand, rather then having the money spent to satisfy political demands.
