I was speculating, in my own mind, on who the seller could have been...and why Joe even cared 25 years after the fact, until I read your post...shazooom that one went right over my head.

Mr. Jewel would never sell acid to the bartender, nor would he partake of spiked drinks. I am somewhat disappointed he did not warn the customers or alert the authorities as to the goings on in the bar. He could of at least put signs up about the spiked drinks. This would have been deemed fair warning and probably increased the traffic at the bar so everybody would have been a winner.
