Jim, this is a good bit of history, I posted the following on the Rat thread on 30 Dec 2002>
(The bio & semi sectors have been "hot" to say the least, and as always, it is best to beat the crowd, or in simple terms, buy when they ain't!)
And the link at the bottom was a little history on gold, and why it was going to go up, from 5 Sept 2002

Early this year I posted the following site and at that time I said to look at the sectors that look the worst, because things change and that is what I/we do, bottom fish.
Last year the bottom 2 sectors were gold and silver mining.
Guess what, now they are the top 2 sectors.
A complete reversal...

The bottom sectors now are Semi's & airlines.
I don't like airlines except to trade once in awhile, but biotech is near the bottom...
There may be a lesson here..

What do you all think?

Also, this post is worth re-reading, especially in the current geopolitical situation we now find ourselves in.
