Those COT numbers are extremely bullish IMO. I mean, seeing $355 as a good place to cover shorts? How many more were covered at the end of the week below $360, after the reporting deadline? Wow ... must be some worry out there.

If the worry is Freddie Mac, that may not even be fully reflected in this week's numbers. And if the dollar spills hard on Monday ... the COT report next Friday will be telling.

I wonder how much trouble ABX could find itself in?

In addition to having lucked into a maverick judge in the Blanchard Case

messages.yahoo.com

They appear to be attracting general attention from the Plaintif's bar

biz.yahoo.com

The sharks are circling as they smell blood in the water.

I have no idea as to the real nature of ABX's complicated hedges. It is possible they could wiggle out of them in a rising POG market; after all they have over 20 years experience as gold traders.

It is just that they may have to start devoting a lot of management time and energy to the legal wars. That cannot be good news or ABX even if they win all of their lawsuits.

PS that's SRM not SMN
