talked to a friend in Austin over the weekend -- he has a gift for hyerbole -- but he said that DELL's motherboard design is all done in china now ... Our biggest export is tech / software jobs ... how can there not be a standard of living adjustment. the idea that we can all be wealthy by simply adding zeros behind the purchase price of our homes or trading the underlying debt is ludicrous ... Frank Shostak talks a lot about the "real pool of funding" shrinking -- maybe it really started shrinking in the late 90's, while we we're still being entertained by the asset inflation. Takes a while for realities to catch up to the BS ... Same way with this correction in the bear market -- heck, some activity may even appear to pick up here. I am confident that we'll have been in a contraction for years and people will be miserable before the government admits anything is terribly wrong ... let's face it, there's a lot of folks out there that want to be lied to.
