I see an indigenous population who are struggling to fight of the colonialists, imperialists and militarists who seek to dominate and conquer in order to exploit local resources.

Uh-huh... I see a minority of people bent upon repressing and terrorizing the majority in order that THEY can exploit local resources.

You must REALLY want to see a Saddam style government come back into existence, right?

Wars of national liberation? Geez... most are nothing more than a thin facade for some other ruthless leader bent upon repressing the many for the benefit of the few.

What would have happen Raymond? Give every ethnic tribe their own country? Give them a seat on the UN? Would that make you happy?

Do you want every country in earth perpetually in a state of active civil war, torn apart by its various nationalities, ethnic and political?

Should we just permit the Shiites, Kurds, and Sunni (and don't forget the Iraqi christians) to blow each other up with the winner take all??

It seems to me your concept of how the world should work has no place for creating institutions where government is accountable to its people.

And btw, I appreciate the "reading list".. It would come in handy when I run out of toilet paper.
