Whitepine,

The distributions paid to US holders of the trusts have INCREASED due to the appreciation of the Loonie. There is no guessing about it--it is a fact.

I know this because my distributions have increased while the amount paid out by the trusts (in Canadian Money) has remained level. The increase in the distributions to me is a result of the currency conversion.

Therefore, for a US citizen his yield on said trusts has NOT dropped proportiontely to the NAV of the price increase.

Additonally, and this is speculation on my part, I attribute the run up in the price of the trusts as partially due to US investors piling into them when they realized that the distributions would increase due to the currency conversion. Therefore, INDIRECTLY, the appreciation of the Loonie has caused the price of the trusts to rise.
