Thanks for clearing that up.. But I am rather disappointed.. I was looking forward to haranguing you about maintaining journalistic objectivity..

Now I just have to accept that you'll continue to view direct quotes as "hearsay".

Btw, with regard to your link.. it's all fascinating. Of course the CIA has screwed up.. Just as the KGB, MI6, and many other global intelligence agencies have.. It's the nature of the beast.

But it's ALSO the nature of the beast that we don't normally hear about the successes of our intelligence agencies because, being successful, they didn't arouse any attention.

I would say that the CIA's role in overthrowing the Taliban is DEFINITELY one of our greatest successes. But now we have to see if something viable can be created out of that success..

Of course, the Afghanis (according to YOUR world view) have no responsibility in achieving that viable society.
