It will be interesting to see if SCO can prevail against IBM.

It will be more interesting to see their evidence. So far they haven't shown anybody the alleged SCO code that has made it into Linux. On the other hand, several Linux kernel types have shown where their GPL licensed code has made it from Linux into SCO. My guess: any eventual settlement will mimic the USL/Berkeley/BSDI case where more Berkeley code was found in System V than vice versa.

Disclaimer: I'm one of those dinosaurs that thinks software is just another tool to sell hardware. I buy Sun because of the hardware. Solaris is worth zero to me. The first thing I do when I install new Sun hardware is toss Solaris for my preferred OS (which is NOT Linux).
