I think the world has given up on Africa. Between massacres and the ravages of Aids, i too wonder if it is too late to succeed. Assets are being reserved for the rest of the world's crisis. Africa is getting the short end of the stick. mike

That day may be coming. When I look at the carnage in Sudan and Congo, I can only say, "Speed the day." Wouldn't you agree?

If you are asking whether I think we should invade Sudan and Congo, the answer is no. I’m not the one who wanted 10,000 Mogadishus; that was someone else.

If you ask whether I think we should ignore what is going on there, the answer is also no. Reducing a situation to two options is often a useful rhetorical device, but it rarely reflects real-world situations.
