Room, but only a few post ago you were extolling the virtues of open source which has NO business model. Redhat just reported a profit after multiple years of losing shareholder's equity.

Look at IBM's dole to Linux. Where is the ROI on IBM's investment in Linux? People buy their x86 servers from Dell and Compaq (HPQ). IBM is not the preferred vendor for x86 servers.

Business models is not about maximizing profit on every product but maximizing profits on the product portfolio as a whole. Even your mutual fund shorts some stocks while going long on some others.
