What exactly do you mean by positive reinforcement given to jerks?

I almost wish I had not turned off the tube so that I could give you a good, recent example. <g> I'm referring to all the attention, air time, and money that rewards those who don't deserve accolades for what they've done. Perhaps they know that the attention doesn't amount to admiration but is merely attention and perhaps they don't. But fame and money are rewards, rewards that can be claimed just as easily or more easily by jerks than by people of character.

Edit: the woman who won the last installment of Survivor is an example. She was a nasty bitch throughout the show, when she wasn't being totally insipid, that is, and she won a million bucks.
