Most of the light products are delivered up the Chelsea creek by tanker or large barge. There is no room to turn once these tankers enter the creek... You can throw a rock across Chelsea creek.. You have Sunoco, Mobil (now owned by conoco?) Exxon, texaco, Northeast Petroleum, and a few others along the creek... I wonder what safety/security precautions are in place? Back in 60's a tanker every week or two would arrive for discharge at Mobil. It is also the source for Jeta to logan airport (pipeline (late 60's)from Mobil to airport) unless the airport now has facilities.... This is a large business for such a small area. and heavily populated E. Boston, Chelsea, Revere.
