the owners of the company should get it if qcom doesn't need it, imho.

I agree....I would prefer dividends but am willing to go with share buybacks unless double taxation is ended completely.

they are just trying to make their earnings look better by selling puts. better than their earnings actually are.

It wasnt much last quarter ($7 million), but the problem is that the temptation to use put selling shouldnt be entrusted to management. If a quarter isnt going well, put selling could easily make up the difference.
