I never asserted broad Roman persecution of Jews, although it happened periodically, as when Claudius (I believe) expelled them from Rome. I am sure that it was a response to the Bar Kochba rebellion. So I am not sure what point you imagine you are making. Since "voluntarily" leaving largely meant leaving as refugees after their towns had been destroyed, I am not sure why you want to insist on the "voluntariness" of it, but I have already conceded that there was no formal edict of expulsion, apart from Jerusalem. If it pleases you to emphasize that point, I suppose I will not object..........
