Let me be sure I understand you. Are you saying oil companies don't do research estimating the world supply of oil? Dag, where did BP get this .xls file I'm looking at?

you know, the ironic thing is, you would probably be quite interested in this research if you'd only read it instead of brushing it aside with preconceived notions

There is nothing preconcieved about saying that oil supply is far higher than most say it is and the price is destined to stay low....in fact its quite the opposite of the preconceived popular view. Most of the world is still suffering under Hubbert's view that additional supply is only available at higher prices.
