So these places of higher education that embrace all forms
of diversity, will take punitive action against me if my
religious beliefs find homosexuality to be a perversion & I
openly express my beliefs.

How is that not a violation of my freedom of speech?

Well, we read that provision in the constitution differently. It's a protection for political speech, was meant so at the time, and I don't recall any rulings that generalized it beyond that. Bigoted speech is not political speech; it's only itself. To say it another way, it's one thing to argue that certain classes of people are not entitled to the full rights of human beings. A bigoted position but the argument strikes me as protected speech. But it's not protected speech to simply go around calling people names. That's childlike, at best.
