More re : Mr. Bug's comment : "i didn't know i bought an options trading company!" --

Any company that makes decisions about issuing debt or not issuing debt (and -- will it be short-term debt, long-term debt, convertible debt) ...

could be considered (by someone who is trying to irritate us) a bond trading company.

Should I bother discussing foreign currency receipts, exchange rates, currency hedging or no currency hedging ?

Or, decisions about pension plan offerings for employees ?

Or, self-insurance (risk taking) / insurance considerations ?

Or, ...

Jon.

I find it interesting how many non-owners of QCOM post on this thread.

Really?

Sure, 100% of people who have a position in QCOM have an opinion about QCOM. But this is not 100% of people.

The rest of the population (the vast majority, actually), have no position in QCOM. And some of this vast majority that have no position happen to have an opinion. Some of which is positive and some of which is negative.

What we have posting to this thread are people who have an OPINION about QCOM, not necessarily a POSITION. These are two different things.

What I would find interesting would be someone claiming that QCOM was the buy of the century but who is selling their position. Or who thinks the price is likely to appreciate less than a T-bill but still holds a position. Now those people... those are interesting...

... the rest? Well, isn't that what message boards devoted to a stock are for? A place for people to post their opinions? Provided that folks positions are consistent with their opinions, wouldn't be very interesting at all.

What I find interesting are the folks who seem to think that the only people who would bother to share an opinion are those whose opinion is positive enough to adopt a position.

Go figure.

John
(No position, because of my opinion, not the other way 'round)

golf, i keep an eye on companies i might be interested in owning. is that ok with you? -lol-

if a company i'm looking at has turned options trader, i like to know. lots of shady companies did that during the bubble - and even some big names, too.

it works until it doesn't.

perhaps qcom's option trading program is small, but then i have to ask, why do it?

anyway, i'll keep watching. that is, if i have your permission... ;-)

seriously, what kind of market share is cdma taking from its competitors. "i like their fundamentals" doesn't answer that basic question.

perhaps someone else did.
