it's gone from 90% about the market in 1996, to 95% anything but the market. it's a joke.

Sad, but true. Didn't used to be that way. And it's not that non-market discussion takes place that galls me. It's a healthy site if people who share an interest in the market also discuss their other interests. What bugs me is that such a large number of people (or maybe just a relatively few very prolific people) see this as a playground message board and couldn't care less whether it's called "Silicon Investor" or "Political Rants".
