<Why do they support Osama?>

For much the same reason Americans support Bush.
People in the Muslim World want the same thing Americans have, and are using the same methods (unlimited violence against the Other), to pursue those goals.
They want:
Sovereignty.
Foreign soldiers off their soil, and not controlling their governments.
Foreign corporations allowed to operate on their soil, only in ways that benefit the natives, under rules made by natives.
To be ruled by governments friendly to their native culture.
Every other ideology the Muslim World has tried, to achieve these goals, has failed. Now, it's the Islamist's turn.

He's defending Islam and doing a pretty good job of it.

So let's see.. If that's all it is, then should we say that Bush is defending Christianity?

Do the Shiite Muslims believe that Osama is "defending Islam"?

Freedom from America, the Great Satan. Hope. Courage.

Is that why millions of muslims live in America, "the Great Satan"??

Why don't all 1.4 Billion muslims take up arms to rally behind Osama Bin Laden?

Methinks there's something else... And it has something to do with economic despair and massive unemployment.
