Thank you for confirming that #reply-19069266 was, indeed, a Godwin's Law demonstration, gaseous and oblique though it may have been. Personally, I think Israel is a better example than Vietnam of the wonders inherent in open-ended military occupation operations. Maybe the PNAC people know something that's not apparent to mere mortals that makes the Lebanon and the West Bank /Gaza occupations look good.

Only a complete coward would think that Iraq in 2003 and Germany in the 1930s were at all similar.

Germany was a world power with a world class military machine. Iraq was a puny country with an obsolete, 3rd class, amateurish military. One was a threat, one was not.

But being a world class coward, you blew Iraq up into a Germany sized threat. And now you're stuck fighting civilians.
