"If you have no belief in God then all beliefs are equal to you and in reality there is no right or wrong."

This has got to be one of the most absurd statements from you yet, Tommy. Absolutely no logic could produce such a statement. The statement that there can be no code of morality or purpose of life without God is indeed indicative of the narrowness of some on the religous right.

I am not missing any point, I am revealing the inadequacy of your discussion of the topic at hand.

"Giving one's life" is evil in some circumstances, not evil in others. Someone dedicated to the Nazi cause does not suddenly do good just because he gives his life.

Philosophically, morality precedes faith. It may be a morality that one considers inadequate, but it is a code. One example, accepted by the Scholastics, are Aristotelian ethics, which are not strictly dependent on a belief in God. As it happens, I do believe in God, and find many of your personally directed comments impertinent and offensive.

Incidentally, by your logic it would be okay to be homosexual if you also reproduced, as is the case with many closeted men. Also, from the perspective of social harm, it is not necessary for everyone to reproduce. It is therefore only necessary that heterosexuality be the prevailing norm, not that it be universal. If you put it in terms of human fulfillment, again, it is impossible to prove that it is universally required for fulfillment, any more than it is necessary for each person to be an artist or composer. And even if it were necessary for fulfillment, it is perfectly possible to obtain a child without any deep commitment to heterosexuality, especially in these days of artificial insemination.........
