You got 'em big time with this list, American Spirit.

In fact, I just mentally reviewed our local elected officials and realized that everyone of them is Republican but not one of them ever did any military service. Everyone of them requested deferment for one reason or another. Why are Dems not using this list more often? The country has become so super-patriotic since 9/11, many citizens would find that list an eye-opener.

Although, to there credit, Bob Dole(my all-time favorite Repub) and Sen. John McCain served above & beyond the call of duty.
