All to avoid a modest tax which is the same vehicle charge Pete Wilson was charging when he was in office?
Don't be stupid. That tax would raise only a few billion. The deficit is $38B.

cutting cops and firemen
Yeah, that's the tax-and-spend crowd's favorite threat against the public. Go ahead, jerk; fire 'em all. See how long YOU'RE in office. Be my guest. We'll have a Republican Governor and Legislature so fast, you're head will spin.

Even the cops and firemen aren't particularly impressed by this stupidity. The tactic is to lay them off for a few weeks, then call 'em back.

Bush's deficits are 35X Davi's
Dear Stoopid,
Bush is President of the United States. Davis is Governor of one state. Did you know this?

I think Arnie can handle it. Wanna be terminated?

The Cal. recall is going to be a lot more difficult that the GOP thinks.
Or maybe not.

>>Bush's deficits are 35X Davi's....

You're comparing a state budget to the federal budget? Don't you think there's a bit of a difference... small things like, say, providing for the common defense?

"Bush's deficits are 35X Davi's and he didn't get attacked by the Texas energy bandits in 2000."

Where do you come up with 35x? California's deficit is around 40 billion and the federal deficit is around 400 billion. That's nowhere near 35x.

Davis' problem is that he panicked and locked the state into outrageous energy contracts which he is now trying to get out of but the courts are saying they are enforceable.

And everyone is worried about the rising unemployment rate, but did you know that in May, if you take CA out of the calculation, there was an INCREASE in jobs. Can't blame that on Bush. CA politics are so ridiculous, it's time for a revolution, and the recall Davis petition is just the start.
