Brian, you have certainly been beaten up by church demonology! I apologize if I see it that way but in my experience I see so many Christians who have no desire to be complete in Christ, letting another man tell them how they must worship and believe, rather than searching for the completeness that only a deep, personal encounter with Christ can give.

To me it is all about seeking through prayer and meditation for that place within us(the soul or some call mind or spirit) where God resides. On what basis do people make decisions that are really in there own selfish self interests and then say they were led by The Holy Spirit? When those plans do not work out and they are really based on wishful thinking then do they still say that God was leading them?

I am just a novice at the kind of stillness one must achieve and be able to have the mind devoid of the chatterbox within all of us that forces the pureness of thought to be distracted from God's voice and we fail to understand his will for us. That ability to still the mind and seek that completeness is what the Apostles had and I believe that the power of God within them also gave them the abilities to do all of the things that the Pentecosts claim exist today. They can easily rattle some unintelligeable language but forget that raising the dead and surviving poison was other signs of the power that God gave the Apostles. Something that has been lost to Christianity because so few can achieve the completeness of Christ in this life time.

One of our Baptist preachers was forced out because he allowed the assembly to raise their hands in worship during praise songs. This is what turns me ice cold on the forms of worship and doctrines practiced today.

I sincerely believe that God understands that some of us are seeking a truthful relationship with him and if anything stands in the way of that then we MUST move around it.

I am a sinner by nature, incomplete in the physical body that my real self uses until God separates me from it and gives me one of perfection. Thank Christ, my heavenly brother who reconciles my sins so that God can look upon me as his son.

James
