Actually, there needs to be a competent, and in this country, a well-financed opposition. Unfortunately, the opposition is composed of liliputians who spend days begging for a few dollars while Ms. Bush earns 10 times as much with a wink of the eye. Perhaps it should be, the democracy you get is equal to the democracy you can afford.

jttmab, Re: Who gaves us those forgeries and what other "intel" was provided by that same source? The red herring that was circulating a month ago was that the documents had come through the Italian intel community. Since Niger is in the French sphere of influence in sub-Saharan Africa, I found this to be whimsical, if not far-fetched. Of course, if we do the old cui bono? test, we can both easily figure out who probably is behind this thing... I believe their motto is: "BY WAY OF DECEIT, THOU SHALT MAKE WAR" -
