I wasn't trying to imply it wasn't legal, just that it discriminates against the young.WTF, why don't we pass a law that all our income goes to the gov't? Maybe they'll give us back what they think we fools deserve. Why cap taxes at all? Well because, I don't want to pay for your services thats why. If people want to pay for their own services out of pocket then by all means cap taxes. But this current system simply allows this landlord woman to collect income while her renters use services which OTHER PEOPLE pay for. If my property values weren't skyrocketing due to the siphoning effect of this law, and if my company didn't have to pay people more in order to cover the cost of living to pay for people to work in a county where this siphoning property tax law allowed this inequity to happen, then I wouldn't care. But I am not interested in paying for some freeloaders services, it is as simple as that. Pay your own way and you will have no arguments from me. I say drop prop 13, and all the freeloaders will be forced out of town. My employees and me will remain and our taxes and property values will go DOWN, WAY DOWN. Then the cost of living here will accurately reflect the true services we receive, not some subsidy of misc. deadbeats that happened to live here 30 years ago that passed laws to screw their kids so they could "retire on the house". How about this- why don't you and I and all residents of CA pass a law that freezes the cost of FOOD at todays levels for the duration of their lives. Sound good to you? (wait- don't answer that, screwing others is probably ok with you) Lizzie
