other lazy dudes

As a charter member, I was half watchin' the tube - 60 minutes (which Andy says is now down to 42 [minutes]). The middle piece (of their standard three piece suite [that's suite not suit]) was about the guy responsible for the NY Times crossword puzzle. It was a good story for anyone that's ever played any werdball. I liked the point where the guy admitted to being deliberately deceptive about the three letter "word" meaning "notable tower". Tower is a class A homograph, with the two meanings of one who tows or a tall slender building. Given the first meaning, the crossword answer is AAA.

For other class A homographs like

axes {plural of ax; plural of axis}
invalid {cripple; erroneous}
number {decimal ~; more numb}
singer {one who singes; one who sings}
sewer {storm ~; one who sews}

along with

tower {one who tows; leaning ~}

and my favorite

moped {brooded; fun vehicle}

see rec-puzzles.org

This is part of a werdball fan’s delight

einstein.et.tudelft.nl

that answers such pressing questions as “What plural is formed by switching the first two letters?” Answer: aflaj as in nizwa.net

I noticed that mice elf didn’t make the oronym list even though new direction/nude erection did rec-puzzles.org .

Just a lazy werdball day.

Yes, a very lazy day for us.

Our day was like your sail. The wind and tide were opposite, which kept us in the same spot most of the day. But on dry land.

We went over to my Dad's this evening to swim some laps and have a couple of tequila's....

all & all, a very successful day.

sleep well, Rosie.....
