Yes, the Jordanian monarchy refused to allow the Palestinians overthrow them. However, they have always provided them with a much better life. The Palestinians hold key positions in the society (government, private, even royalty), in contrast to Israel where they are only allowed a few token positions for Western viewing. A trip across the Jordan river is all one needs to see the remarkable difference between the Occupied Territories and Jordan.
