Haqi,
Yes the momentum of bloodshed is a difficult thing to stop. As you say history is full of wars and madmen.

But to stop this madness we all need to do our part. This does not mean that we allow Hitler to take over the world. Nor do we let the Japanese take over the Pacific, nor do we let Saddam take over Kuwait.

We should however do everything we can to prevent a war. As you say some of the 7,000 might have been bad, but some of them were innocent good people trying to raise their families. Probably most as these are only the civilian casualties.

Saddam could have been slowly strangled if we so chose. He could have been removed from power, and we could have done it with the entire world community in unison. This would have done far more to advance peace in the world then a pre-emptive war founded on sexed up intelligence.

We did the right thing in WWII. We did the right thing by stopping Saddam from taking Kuwait.

At this juncture, Bush has failed to hold up the honor of those past wars which struck down powers intent, and actively seeking to take over the world or another country. But here we are the agressors. This is clearly not in the spirit of American Freedom. It is a war being fought under the direction of the military-industrial complex for economic gain. A war built on a foundation of lies and misconceptions, same as VietNam.
