rats-

thanks for the inside of the story.
the coppers done good.

here in alb. there was a similar
incident last night but a cop was shot.
other cops responded by sneaking up on the
ill varmint and assassinating him quickly.
most of their confrontations with the
mentally ill here end up with the ill one dead
often armed only with knives or nothing.
last night's incident was different - the
man was an immediate lethal threat to everyone
on the streets.

it's a touchy subject to think about. on the
one hand you want law enforcement to protect
and defend and to assert the authority we've
given them without backing down. on the other
hand you'd like to see more non-lethal force
used sometimes.

i respect and appreciate the jobs they do as
long as they don't try to become a judge and
a jury.

there was a killing by a cop on caye caulker
when i was there - it's a story for later when
i get my letters from belize written up. a lot
of drama and emotions were flying around.

that's all i have for now.

this is el polvo reporting for NNBM news...
