I think this Administration is very arrogant and thinks they have everybody in their pocket. They keep a very closed chamber and do not seem to care for much analysis that does not fit their notions. They count on the American Public getting bored. TIme will tell. Hold on to your convictions. I think the truth will out!

Very well put, Neo. Perhaps the believers of the past folks grew used to acting in bad faith, and can't get over the fact that "everyone" doesn't do things that way.

I too, believe that the majority of the American people think the way you stated....and for that matter, when talking of National Security issues, I would believe it of Administrations like that of Harry Truman, JF Kennedy, Ronald Reagan and George Bush Sr as well.

>>>>>>>>I do not think that the Administration acted in bad faith, not because authority cannot be abused, but because I do not think it is in character for the principals, as they appear to me,

and because it is so hard to pull off wholesale deception when so much controversy surround an issue,

and because no Administration would set itself up for this kind of controversy by making totally baseless accusations, when the truth was bound to come out. <<<<<<

I might have said that before Iran-Contra, or before Bush41's amazing stunt of putting the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador in front of the Senate to lie through her teeth about seeing Saddam's soldiers throw babies from incubators in order to drum up support for Gulf I. The truth of both of those things "was bound to come out." It did come out. And there were almost no real consequences for either set of brazen lies.

And there likely will be none here as well. Democrats don't have the same strident zeal that Republicans seem to have these days. For better and worse, IMHO.
