T-mobile is currently charging $30 for unlimited data use without a voice plan, but only $20 when added on top of an existing voice plan ($39.99 and greater i believe). They are also offering unlimited data from the handset (ie, excluding modem usage) for $10, which includes sending pictures/video, web surfing from pdas, etc. Like Sprint's loophole (currently still in effect), some users are reporting that they are able to use their phones as a modem under this plan without incurring additional charges.

Interesting.....I didnt realize they were offering all those different options. I took a quick pass through their website but only saw the $29.99 option.

I wish we could get some more details from T-Mobile on how their data offerings are doing. That pricing scheme is now cheaper than PCS's....I wonder if they are seeing better than 30% take rates.

They are still small footsteps, but I think we are finally seeing wireless data adoption in both the GSM and CDMA camps starting to move in the right direction.

Who knows....maybe by the end of the year, we could see articles talking about how wireless data has become a success. That would be a huge turn around from the sentiment in '02.
