I took my Mom to do some shopping at Home Depot this afternoon. We bought a lot of stuff. The debit card scanner was broken at the register so there was a bag over it. My Mom asked "Is this ours?" as she tried to pull it off the counter! The cashier laughed so hard he almost spit out his gum. I've heard stories of cashiers in supermarkets trying to scan the plastic separator but I don't believe them, this was almost as absurd and for real.
